Errores frecuentes

Olvidar la -s de la tercera persona: He link en vez de He links

Correcto: He/She/It links

En el present simple, la tercera persona del singular (he/she/it) siempre añade -s o -es al verbo. Es el error más frecuente entre hispanohablantes.

Pronunciar la -ed como sílaba separada en todos los casos

Correcto: La -ed solo se pronuncia como sílaba extra (/ɪd/) tras t o d. Tras consonante sorda suena /t/, tras sonora /d/.

En español todas las sílabas se pronuncian, pero en inglés -ed no siempre es una sílaba: walked = /wɔːkt/ (una sílaba), wanted = /ˈwɒntɪd/ (dos sílabas).

Formar preguntas sin do/does: You link? en vez de Do you link?

Correcto: Do you link? / Does he/she link?

En español, la pregunta se forma con la entonación. En inglés, el present simple y past simple necesitan el auxiliar do/does/did para preguntas y negaciones.

Confundir present simple con present continuous: I link vs I am linking

Correcto: Hábito/general → I link | Ahora mismo → I am linking

El present simple se usa para hábitos y verdades generales, mientras que el present continuous se usa para acciones en progreso. En español a menudo se usa el mismo tiempo para ambos.
